The white long-sleeved Henley from Rag & Bone features heavily in No Time To Die – In fact, it might be the single piece of clothing with the most screen time. With that in mind, I wanted to revisit my list of budget-friendly alternatives for the piece.
In the movie, Bond wears the Henley under the Massimo Alba Duster Coat as well as the N. Peal Ribbed Army Sweater for his tactical look. The Rag & Bone Classic Cotton Henley is made from 100% slub cotton and features a three-button placket with metal buttons, a straight hem, and ribbed cuffs. The slub cotton is lightweight so the shirt is light enough to be worn as a layering piece but you can still wear it on its own. You can still get the original through Rag & Bone’s website for $150, although their inventory has been selling out since No Time To Die‘s release.
If you’re looking for a less expensive white long-sleeved Henley, here are four options that will do the trick.

Goodthreads (Amazon)
Long-Sleeve Lightweight Slub Henley

You can’t go wrong with this basic Henley from Amazon. Like the Rag & Bone shirt, this one is made from 100% slub cotton to give it the worn-in look right out of the bag. It features a three-button placket with some stripe detailing and off-white plastic buttons. The sleeves are missing the ribbed cuffs but that doesn’t really bother me. The only potential issue I see with this shirt is that it looks like it has a slightly rounded hem, so you might have to tuck it in if you don’t want it showing when you layer it.
Express
Slim Supersoft Long Sleeve Henley T-Shirt

This option from Express looks like the slimmest-fitting shirt on this list, so this is probably the shirt you want to go with if that’s what you’re looking for. It has a three-button placket with plastic buttons, long sleeves and a straight hem. The big difference with this shirt is that it’s made from a cotton/modal/spandex blend instead of slub cotton. Unlike slub cotton, the blend gives this shirt some moisture-wicking properties as well as some stretch so it fits snugly around your body. It also gives the shirt a more polished look instead of the worn-in look slub cotton provides.
L.L. Bean
Men’s Carefree Unshrinkable Tee, Traditional Fit, Long-Sleeve Henley

L.L. Bean has a great reputation for making durable, practical clothing and outerwear, so it’s no surprise they have a great Henley in their catalog. This shirt has a lot of the No Time To Die design elements, including the three-button closure and ribbed cuffs. The only real design change I would make is to swap out the dark buttons for some metal ones. Unlike the other options on the list, this one is made from jersey cotton instead of slub cotton, so it’ll be a little heavier. But that also means you can wear it as a standalone shirt without worrying about if it’s too sheer. This shirt is also a “traditional fit”, so it’s probably a bit longer and more relaxed.
J. Crew
Garment-Dyed Slub Cotton Henley

This J.Crew Henley looks like a close match to the original from Rag & Bone. It has a three-button placket with off-white plastic buttons, a straight hem, and it’s the only alternative on this list that has ribbed cuffs. This shirt is also made from 100% slub cotton. I’m a little uncertain about this shirt’s weight—it looks a little heavier than some of the other options based on some of the product photos, but it’s difficult to know just how heavy it is unless you see it in person. That shouldn’t necessarily dissuade you from getting it if you like it, just be aware that it might work better as a standalone shirt than a layering piece.
Update: I purchased this shirt on Sept. 27, 2021. I’m still waiting for it to arrive but will post my thoughts over on Instagram.
Update 2: I finally received my shirt on Oct. 21, 2021, and I’m very pleased with it. It’s really comfortable, fits great, and it’s thick enough that you can wear it as a standalone shirt without worrying about it being see-through. At the same time, it’s lightweight enough that you can comfortably wear it as a layering piece. I highly recommend this shirt! One piece of advice – if you want this shirt, go ahead and order it now. They’re already on backorder again, so you’ll probably have to wait at least a few weeks for it to arrive.

Bonobos

This Henley from Bonobos checks all the right boxes—it has a three-button placket (again with off-white plastic buttons), long sleeves, and a straight hem. This particular shirt is constructed from a 50/50 cotton/DRYTEX blend fabric that provides moisture wicking, breathability and UV protection, according to the Bonobos website. The weave on the shirt looks like the slub cotton options, but I don’t know how the DRYTEX will affect how the shirt feels when you wear it. One benefit of this shirt is that it’s available in either slim or standard fit, so you can pick whichever fit works best for you.
I hope this list is helpful if you’re looking for your own budget-friendly alternative to the Rag & Bone Classic Cotton Henley from No Time To Die. If you’re interested in any of these options, don’t wait too long to make your purchase. I found four more options during my research that I had to remove because they’re already sold out.
White long-sleeved Henleys are selling out quickly this season — I’m willing to bet that’s because James Bond wears one in No Time To Die. Don’t miss out on something you want. If you find something you like, just go ahead and pull the trigger. Happy shopping!
The J.Crew Henley was on sale today for $34.99 and then you can use the code GOSPRING for another 40% off. And if you sign in with an account you get free shipping.
I just got mine for $18 and change. Thanks!

I just bought the All Saints Kershaw Henley in Chalk White in the UK for around $60.
It’s a really good piece, a silk-cotton blend so more lightweight than most of the ones on this list. Colour and buttons seem fairly accurate. No ribbed cuffs either
